Purpose of the Processing

Video surveillance is used for the following purposes:

  • Ensuring the safety of employees, visitors, customers, and suppliers
  • Prevention and Investigation of Crimes, Security Incidents, and Unauthorized Access
  • Enforcement of the right to manage one's own property
  • Protection of Company Assets and Other Property

Legal Basis

The processing is carried out on the basis of Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR (legitimate interest).

Leonhard Lang GmbH has a legitimate interest in protecting individuals, buildings, facilities, trade and business secrets, and other property, as well as in investigating security-related incidents. [wko.at], [jusline.at]

Scope of Processing

As part of the video surveillance system, video footage of the monitored areas is processed. No audio is recorded.

The cameras are positioned so that they capture only those areas necessary to achieve the stated purposes.

Retention period

Recorded image data is generally stored for 30 days and then automatically deleted.

Data will only be retained for a longer period if this is necessary to investigate a specific security incident, to assert, exercise, or defend legal claims, or to comply with legal obligations.

Recipients of the data

Access to the records is granted exclusively to those employees of Leonhard Lang GmbH who need it to perform their duties.

If necessary, data may be transferred to the following recipients:

  • Security Service Provider
  • IT service provider in the area of system support
  • Insurance
  • Attorneys
  • Courts
  • Government agencies and law enforcement agencies

to the extent that this is necessary to fulfill the stated purposes or is required by law.

Transfer to Third Countries

As a general rule, personal data is not transferred to countries outside the European Union or the European Economic Area.

Provision of Data

Image data is captured automatically when a person enters the areas under video surveillance.

Rights of Affected Individuals

Under the provisions of the law, data subjects have, in particular, the right to:

  • Information About the Personal Data Processed
  • Correction of Inaccurate Data
  • Deletion of Data
  • Restriction of Processing
  • Objection to Processing
  • Data portability, provided that the legal requirements are met
